There are a number of great training programs that will get you ready to run at your desired pace to cross the finish line. These include several wonderful national charity programs, online training programs and regional training programs.

FREE HALF-MARATHON TRAINING PLANS

In partnership with the IMM, Matt has provided these FREE HALF-MARATHON TRAINING PLANS to help you prepare for your race.

The "Finisher" plan is designed for a runner currently comfortable with 3-5 miles and 3-4 days of running a week. The primary goal is to finish a half marathon happily and healthfully. This plan averages 21 miles a week and builds up to a peak of 28.

pacer training banner

"Pacer(s)" should be comfortable with 5-8 miles and 4-5 days of running a week. The primary concern is to achieve a goal time. This plan averages 29-32 miles a week and tops out at 38-42 depending on choosing the 4 or 5 training day option.

"Racer(s)" are concerned with time and place and are looking to be challenged. They should already be comfortable with 6-10 miles and 5-6 days per week. This plan has a 5 or 6 day per week option and averages 37-41 weekly miles and builds up to 47-52 miles.

Team In Training - Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Team in Training is a group of athletes coming together to fundraise and train for a common mission - to cure blood cancers. All Team in Training athletes have the opportunity to train with the team and will have access to coaches every step of the way!

Circle City Go Girls Logo What are the Circle City Go Girls? We run, we walk. We are a community of women who support each other and train together to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle.

We meet on Monday evenings at 6:00 PM at Sahm's Cafe/Tavern in downtown Indianapolis at Michigan St. & Capitol Ave. We also meet at Blue Mile in Broad Ripple on Saturday mornings at 8 AM for a group long run/walk. Saturday's are optional but a good idea.

Marathon training begins July 7, 2014. Half marathon and 5k training begins August 11, 2014.

CINCINNATI:

Running Spot Pig Cookout Bob Roncker's Running Spot (Cincinnati, OH) and its 800+ member fall marathon/half marathon training group are pleased to partner up with the IMM for this year's event. Our training group is comprised of runners and walkers who train together year-round for a variety of different events - beginning with Cincinnati's Flying Pig Marathon in May and culminating with Cincinnati's Thanksgiving Day 10K Race in late November.

This will be our second time coming to Indy for the IMM and we are extremely excited about it. We have heard plenty of positive feedback and the thought of a Saturday race instead of a Sunday race was a huge plus for many of us!

CHAMPAIGN/URBANA, IL

Second Wind Running Club logo Join us this summer and early fall for the Club Distance Runs! We will be running at 7am starting July 26th. These runs will help you get ready for our fall road trip to the Monumental Half-Marathon or Marathon on November 1, 2014. Each run will be hosted by one of our summer distance run coordinators. There will be aid at the start/finish and the routes will be loop courses in Champaign-Urbana or Mahomet so you can train for either the half or full marathon. Feel free to run as little or as much of each week's route as you like. We look forward to you joining us!
