Beyond Monumental is honored to offer a discount to active U.S. Military members and their immediate family members, U.S. Military veterans and their immediate family members, and active and retired first responders (law enforcement, fire services, emergency medical services, and emergency management officials) and their immediate family members. Qualified individuals can receive a 10 percent (10%) discount off the price at the time of registration.

Email a copy of your or your immediate family member’s military or work photo ID or DD214 to INFO@BEYONDMONUMENTAL.ORG to request the discount.

Upgrading your registration includes changing to a longer distance and changing to a shorter distance that is more expensive than your original registration fee. You must pay the price difference to upgrade (plus processing fees); we do not offer refunds to downgrade.

You can log in to your BEYOND MONUMENTAL PARTICIPANT ACCOUNT to process your upgrade/downgrade until 11:59 p.m. ET on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, subject to availability or sell out.

Any requests after noon ET on November 5, must be handled in person with Runner Services at Packet Pickup, subject to availability, distance sell-outs, and applicable fees.

We offer deferrals to the 2026 Event with proof of injury, pregnancy, or military deployment. The deferral fee is $20.00 (plus processing fees). The deadline to submit supporting documentation (doctor’s note or proof of deployment) is Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. ET.

We do not extend deferrals beyond 1 year, except for pregnancy and postpartum deferrals, which may be extended for up to 2 years with the proper documentation.

To remain fair and consistent, deferrals will only be applicable and approved for the injured, pregnant, postpartum, or deployed participant.

If you need or would like additional medical support or information, please submit the Fast Track to Care form to be connected directly to the IU Health team, the Official Medical Provider of the CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon. An IU Health clinical team member will follow up within two business days upon submission. 

You can transfer your registration until 11:59 p.m. ET on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. There is a $20.00 fee (plus processing fees) to transfer a registration.

Log in to your BEYOND MONUMENTAL PARTICIPANT ACCOUNT and select the “Transfer an Existing Entry to a New Registrant” option. You will receive a transfer code via email to give to the new participant to transfer themself into the race.

You may not transfer your registration after the above deadline or give, exchange, or sell your participant bib to any other person. Please note, participating with someone else’s bib will result in disqualification and no recorded finish time.

You must be registered for the Marathon, Half Marathon, or 5K by 11:59 p.m. ET on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, to customize the name on your race bib.

Your name will not be custom printed on your race bib if you register or modify your race registration after the deadline.

You must be registered by 11:59 p.m. ET on Friday, September 12, to have your name added to the CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon commemorative poster, which will be available for digital download.

Yes! Changing Footprints will gladly accept new or gently used shoes – whether they’ve only been worn once or are brand new and outgrown. Bring your donations to the Changing Footprints booth at the Monumental Health & Fitness Expo on Thursday, Nov. 6 and Friday, Nov. 7, and your shoes will be given to someone in need.

Yes. They must present the official 2025 check-in pass with your ASSIGNED BIB NUMBER and a copy of your government-issued photo ID. Digital or printed copies of the email and government-issued photo ID are acceptable for Packet Pickup.

You can purchase Race Day Packet Will Call when you register or add it later by logging into your BEYOND MONUMENTAL PARTICIPANT ACCOUNT and selecting Buy Products. Quantities are limited and subject to availability.

We will share the hours and location for Race Day Packet Will Call in pre-race communications if you purchase this product.

If you do not purchase Will Call, all other packets must be picked up at the Monumental Health & Fitness Expo between 4 – 7 pm ET on Thursday, Nov. 6 or 11 am – 8 pm ET on Friday, Nov. 7.

Registered participants must wear their assigned race bib at all times during the Event. Your bib should be worn conspicuously on the front (and back when applicable) for the entire Event.

No one is allowed to participate in the Event without their assigned race bib.

In order to accommodate our participants who are breastfeeding, the Indiana Convention Center (ICC) maintains a lactation room for nursing mothers. The ICC is located one block south of the Start/Finish Line areas on Maryland Street.

The Nursing Mother Station is located in the Women’s Restroom on the first floor of the Convention Center across from the Security Dispatch and First Aid Offices along the Crossroad Corridor.

The on-site lactation room provides privacy and may be accessed at any time. Each private area inside has a chair, electrical outlet, dimmable light and side table.

Participants will also have access to Pre-Race Warm Up Area in the Expo Hall, starting at 6 am.

The time limit is 7 hours for the CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon. The course will close on a rolling schedule, with the finish line closing at 3:30 p.m. Marathon runners must maintain a minimum pace of 16:00 per mile to finish ahead of the course closure. Marathon participants must reach the Marathon/Half Marathon course split (between miles 7 & 8) by 10:25 a.m. to continue the race.

Half Marathon runners must maintain a minimum pace of 16:00 per mile for the first ten (10) miles to finish ahead of course closure.

The CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon and Half Marathon will use a wave start. What does a wave start mean?

– The race will have multiple start times.
– The Marathon and Half Marathon will be broken into separate “waves” of participants, based on the expected finish times provided during registration.
– Participants will line up in their pre-assigned wave as indicated on their race bib. Participants may move back to a slower wave, but will not be allowed to move up to a faster wave on Race Day.
– The event is chip timed so your official time will remain unaffected.

Less congestion in the early miles, at water stops, and throughout the course may result in faster finish times and a better race overall experience.

We request an estimated finish time from each participant during registration to create the best possible race experience for everyone. This helps us assign participants to the most appropriate wave, grouped with a pacer and others of similar pace.

If you submitted a race result link as verification, it must be from an event completed after January 1, 2024 for it to be valid. Wave assignments can be found in your BEYOND MONUMENTAL PARTICIPANT ACCOUNT.

If you’d like to change your assigned wave, you can visit the Wave Change Station at the Monumental Health & Fitness Expo and Packet Pickup (Nov 6–7, 2025). Wave changes are subject to availability and at the discretion of our team.

PACE BREAKDOWN ACROSS WAVES:

Yes, we will have pacers for both races.

Marathon paces covered will be, at a minimum: 3:00, 3:05, 3:10, 3:15, 3:20, 3:25, 3:30, 3:35, 3:40, 3:45, 3:50, 3:55, 4:00, 4:15, 4:30, 4:45, 5:00, 5:15, 5:30, 6:00, and 6:33.

Half marathon paces covered will be, at a minimum: 1:30, 1:35, 1:40, 1:45, 1:50, 1:55, 2:00, 2:10, 2:20, 2:30, and a 16:00 pace sweeper through 10M.

Other paces may be available as interest and number of pacers allow.

No. All items (clothes, hats, gloves, etc.) discarded along the course will be picked up and donated to a local charity.

To help make the race start experience as safe as possible for all participants, please discard throw-away items over the fence to help keep the roadway clear of hazards.

When on the course please discard clothing on sidewalks and at Aid Stations when possible.

Yes, NEVERSECOND C30 energy gels will be available along the Monumental Marathon course near miles 10.5, 15.5, and 22 and near mile 8.5 of the Monumental Half Marathon course. Yes, water will be available at all aid stations along the Marathon, Half Marathon, & 5K courses.

In addition, Nuun Endurance (electrolytes) will be offered at every other aid station along the Marathon & Half Marathon courses as well as the start and finish lines.

Port-o-lets will be available at the start and finish lines and at all aid stations. We ask that you please be kind and courteous to the Indianapolis residents and neighborhoods.

MarathonFoto will have photographers on hand to capture the event. You can choose from the available photos of your heroic effort. You can pre-purchase your MarathonFoto Package before the race by logging into your BEYOND MONUMENTAL PARTICIPANT ACCOUNT and selecting Buy Products.

The Event may be postponed, ended early, or canceled by an Event or government official for circumstances beyond the Event’s reasonable control. Circumstances beyond the Event’s reasonable contract include but are not limited to war, epidemic, civil or political unrest, terrorism, curtailment of transportation, or inclement weather. If the Event cannot take place for reasons outside of the Event’s control, registered participants will have the option to choose one of the following options, based on when the event cancelation occurs:

If the Event is canceled prior to May 31, 2025, participants may choose to have their race registration fee:

– Refunded 50%, less any processing fees
– Converted from in-person registration to virtual registration*
– Deferred to 2026 event registration (no extra fee to participate in 2026)
– Donated to support APEX BENEFITS MONUMENTAL KIDS MOVEMENT

If the event is canceled June 1, 2025–September 15, 2025, participants may choose to have their race registration fee:

– Refunded 25%, less any processing fees
– Converted from in-person registration to virtual registration*
– Forfeited to support Beyond Monumental and receive 50% off 2026 registration fee
– Donated to support APEX BENEFITS MONUMENTAL KIDS MOVEMENT

If the event is canceled September 16, 2025-Race Week, all race registrations will be converted to virtual race registrations.

If the Event is canceled and participant purchased refund insurance at registration, please review the terms & conditions located on your confirmation email for additional options.

* All registrations converted from in-person race registration to virtual race registration will be refunded the difference between the in-person race registration fee and the registration fee of the corresponding virtual race, less any applicable processing fees.

Registration opens at 12:00 a.m. ET on January 1, 2025 and closes at noon ET on Wednesday, November 5, unless the race sells out before this date.

In-person registration may be available at the Monumental Health & Fitness Expo on Thursday, November 6, and Friday, November 7, subject to availability.
