#MONUMENTALMILETweets about "#MonumentalMile"
Heading into its second year, the Indianapolis Monumental Mile is introduced as an early summer fitness test and a launching point for your fall training. Designed for fast performances, the course is flat with no turns and is on the final portion of both the Monumental Marathon and Half Marathon courses. For the experienced runner, it's your chance to eclipse your high school bests. The race is also created for beginners - with the Mile training tips, if you can run a mile on Thursday, June 4, you can reach your goal at the Indianapolis Monumental Marathon on Saturday, November 7.
No matter if you're chasing a lifetime best or running your first ever mile race, the Monumental Mile is the perfect way to enjoy a Thursday night in Downtown Indy. Come for the run and stay for the post race festivities. Kids, ages 5 and up, are invited to join us in our Youth Mile (17 & under).
The Monumental Mile is guaranteed to bring you 5,280 feet closer to your next goal.
The elite fields will be reserved for men under 4:30 and women under 5:30 and filled with the top 30 fastest entries in each race. Those interested in elite status should contact our Elite Athlete Coordinator, Matt Ebersole, at firstname.lastname@example.org

STILL GOT QUESTIONS?
For the adventure seeker out there, a mile might not be enough of a challenge. For our extreme athletes we have created the Monumental Triple Mile Trial. Entrants will run in each of the three divisions for their respective gender (masters, open and elite) and prizes will be awarded to the fastest Triple Mile Trial participant in each wave, in addition to prizes to the overall combined winners.
Participants of the Triple Mile Trial will automatically be seeded in the elite mile, no matter expected finish time. Runners participate at their own risk and are responsible for their own transportation back to the starting line for each wave.
